STEM Outside The Box (STEM OTB) seeks to
ignite a spark of scientific curiosity in elementary school, middle
school and high school students through critical thinking and
In order to accomplish our goal, we offer short but creative small group camps that inspire students to pursue activities in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM). Our goal is to sow the seed of curiosity early and allow students to delve in scientific, engineering or mathematical inquiry. Our camps are run in a collaborative and non-judgemental environment. Through such activities we hope to identify and support creative and critical thinkers early i.e. by middle school years so that they would feel confident to pursue STEM related activities/fields in future (high school, college, and career).
One of our initiatives is supporting Girls in Engineering And Robotics (GEAR). With that in mind, we offer 3-Day Introduction to Robotics camps for middle school girls. Our fees are extremely reasonable and cover the cost of material and lunch during the 3 days. Healthy lunch is served to all students. Students also get to take their robots or kits home with them. For low income students, scholarship in form of refund is offered upon successful completion of the camp. All students get a certificate of completion at the end of three days.
